About Dawn

Dawn Elliott Knapp, PA-C, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and English Literature from Centre College in Danville, KY, and a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky College of Allied Health in Lexington, KY. She has been a nationally board-certified physician assistant since 1994.


Ms. Knapp has worked as a freelance medical writer since 2021, using her broad-based medical knowledge and clinical experience to present complex materials clearly and concisely. She is well-versed in medical conditions across the lifespan through her primary care-based, internal medicine experience. Her clinical practice focused on patient education, breaking down difficult medical concepts to help patients fully understand their health conditions. In addition, her past experience as a laboratory research technician provides a firm foundation for covering clinical trial research.
